Dodging Bullets To Fulfillment
By Carlos Siqueira
I couldn't control the tragic events that happened in my life such as:
- Losing my father in a car explosion,
- Preventing my stepfather from being murdered,
- Being robbed at the age 7 with a gun pointed to my head because I was working to help my widowed mother.
- Going door to door selling cable in the streets of D.C. in 2002 and seeing people crying, afraid, and angry because people were being murdered by the Beltway Snipers. We didn't know when the next victim or next shot would take place.
But I adapted to a new mindset and took control:
- What can I strategically and congruently FOCUS on at all times?
- What MEANING will I assign to the things and events that happened and will happen in my life?
- What to do about it and move beyond that point of struggle to where I want to be in LIFE?
Thank God I realized at age 7 that what makes me comfortable could ruin me, but what makes me uncomfortable could change my life. Our minds are designed to do anything to prevent us from doing anything that can hurt us and that is going to be in the way of reaching our dreams. We are not designed to do things that are uncomfortable, scary or difficult. In order to change, to build your dream business, to being the best leader, best spouse, best parent, best body, we have to face it, embrace it, and honor all struggles that lie upon us and say: "NO MORE. I AM GOING TO BURN THE BOAT AND TAKE OVER THE ISLAND."
What you are and what you become depends on how you use your time, what you focus on, what you choose to think, the meaning you assigned to those things, and the decisions you make. Take ownership of your mission, your future, your team, and your life. Adopt a new mindset towards mastering you. Raise your vibrations and ambitions to become your best self. It's not easy, it's hard, and necessary. Adopt a mindset going from a should to a must. Demand your subconscious mind that isn't over until you say so. Victory is near.
If you don't like where you are you have to change. That change is going against your own mind. The only limits that exist are the ones you create. Pick a dream, pick a mission, decide, commit, burn the boat, and take over the island. Surround yourself with others and learn as much as you can from them. Teach someone in need what you just learned. Contribution is a priceless addicting feeling.
My names is Carlos Siqueira, I grew up in Brazil. At the age of seven, I was robbed at gunpoint. This wasn’t the only time I was faced with extreme violence. The dangers of my childhood inspired me to look towards a better future. I started a business selling bread to help my mother pay the bills. That entrepreneurial spirit never left me, and I love sharing it with others and inspiring them. For over 25 years I've gone through the struggles and overcame them on my way to becoming very successful in America. I love inspiring others through my stories and techniques so YOU can also overcome your struggles and go after your dreams.
When I was 18 my mother and I immigrated to America with $800 between the both of us. I worked from this humble beginning to become a top sales executive at a multinational company. I was never afraid to dream big. I emphasize that working up to your potential isn’t only about becoming personally successful but also about giving back in some way. Generosity and charity are just as important as ambition and determination.
"Siqueira gives readers tools they can use to change their own lives. He teaches them how to emphasize their strengths and listen to their inner positive warrior. Negative thoughts only serve to distract and impede. A successful person focuses on positivity. Siqueira gives readers the tools needed to build a better life for themselves and a new way of thinking about the challenges they face."
